Hey, This Jeannot, AKA Bongo from the Congo
I want to help you with your user research.
Looking for a designer who is:
Capable of working under pressure?
Able to work independently, yet also great in a team?
A fast-learner and problem solver?
Fun Fact: I struggle leaving a problem unsolved. I am motivated to think through a solution - facing a problem and coming to a resolution are compelling puzzles to me. I feel more relaxed after a solution is found.
SMC won the Visitor Choice Award for Stand Excellence for a custom stand we designed, and I engineered (Technical Drawings) for SMC Pneumatics - South Africa at Propak Cape Expo 2017
My team designed stands that won the Gold Award and a Bronze Award at Good Food & Wine event: Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban - 2012
I helped increase the company’s yearly profits to R5 Million (ZAR) as product managerger.
I created a modular design library, which increased design efficiency and delivery time by 30%.
I was part of the first team of designers in the world that created methods of how to fabricate 3D products out the flat honeycomb board (Xanita board) as well as how to cut it.
I trained designers from around the world on how to convert the Xanita board using Rhino (Software).
My team increased the usual yearly turnover by 5 times.
I come from a multidisciplinary design background
What’s my story, you ask?
It all started when I landed in Cape Town, South Africa in 2005 - a country I knew no one, and I couldn’t speak a word of English. My first jobs were a car-guard and security guard. From there, I taught myself English in 6 months, put myself through University, and graduated with my Bachelor's in Industrial Design. After graduation, I worked in various design fields, moved to Ontario, Canada in 2019, and thriving in User Experience Design. Voila!
I'll start by saying I'm an outspoken human, who love nature, Biomimicry and traveling. Did I mention I was 100% extravert, but due to COVID-19 I had to forge myself a new cocktail of Extravert + Introvert life style. I have to be honest, I'm actually enjoying this new style.
I'm capable of working independently but enjoy the teamwork more, like a *Vili saying "One finger can't wash the face but a group of five (the hand) can"
*Vili: an African language from the region of Kouilou, in the Republic of the Congo
I'm from Congo and South Africa, born in the Republic of the Congo from Vili parents
I speak 5 languages:
International: English and French
Africans: Vili, Kikongo and Lingala
